Keen to keep up their challenge for promotion from Division 7, the Hertford team got down to pitch drying work after a heavy storm at the scheduled start time. The wicket, uncovered, was going to be difficult and so Hertford found when they were inserted by Totteridge. Three of the younger players got to grips with the conditions and Ashan Abeywickrema (20), Sam Pavey (17) and Heshan Abeywickrema (33) gave Hertford a total of 112 off 43.5 overs and something for the bowlers to work with.
Keven Roberts, 3-16 off 16 overs, and Ian Codd 4-19 repaid the faith the batsmen had in them and sealed a find win by 53 runs as Totteridge folded to 59 all out. Hertford kept their fourth promotion spot as the teams above them all won.
